How Much Does It Cost to Replace Artificial Grass with Real Lawn?

I'm looking to replace the artificial grass I have with a real lawn and would like some advice! I'm based in the South of England and am wondering what the typical costs would be. Also, I have some weeding and soil preparation for new plants to tackle—should I hire the same company for that work, or would it be cheaper to get a gardener separately? Or can I just handle it myself with a shovel and some free time? I'm somewhat handy in the garden, but I still have unfinished projects that could use some professional help. Would love to hear your thoughts!

When leveling your ground for a new lawn, consider how uneven the surface currently is. You could try using a rotorvator, which can really churn up the soil and help with leveling. Just make sure to go slow and really turn the ground over completely. Also, it's best to avoid cutting corners—like just throwing a layer of dirt on hard spots—since it could lead to trouble later. After that, grab a rake to smooth things out, then compact it down with some good old footwork! It might sound labor-intensive, but it'll pay off once you have a nice, even surface for the grass.

Thanks for the tips! I've heard about rotorvators but wasn't sure if they were necessary. Sounds like a solid plan to get everything prepped before laying the new sod!
