I'm building a workshop that's about 12 feet by 20 feet (I know, small size—but it is what it is!). I'm trying to figure out the best overhead lighting solutions. Specifically, I'm curious about how many lumens I should aim for and how to properly space the fixtures. Any recommendations or advice would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

You definitely want good lighting in your workshop! I recommend aiming for a total of around 12000 lumens, evenly spaced to avoid shadows. I use six 12000-lumen 8ft LED lights in my own workshop, which is a little larger than yours at 30x24 ft, and they do a great job without being over the top. Also, light-colored walls can help reflect light back into the space!

Here's a before-and-after pic of my place when I only had one 100w fluorescent light—it was way too dim! Just a heads up, you’re gonna want more light than that!
