How Much Will It Cost to Extend My Kitchen Cabinets?

Hey everyone! I recently bought a starter home and I'm planning to give the kitchen a fresh look. We're definitely updating the flooring and countertops, but I'm really curious about the possibility of extending the cabinets like in this picture: https://imgur.com/a/Sqz4pYH. Can anyone provide an estimate on the cost for this kind of project? Just a heads up, we live in a relatively low cost of living area. Thanks!

This kind of project tends to unfold into what I call a 'Snowball Project.' You could be facing a bunch of extra work. For instance, when you replace the cabinet above your dishwasher, you might need to do ceiling repairs and repaint everything. Then, if you want seamless countertops, you'll likely have to replace all of them. All these little details can add up, so I suggest budgeting around $8,000 to $10,000, depending on the materials you choose. Also, have you thought about freestanding options? They might suit your needs without the big renovation.

Extending the cabinets can definitely get pricey! The biggest factor is whether you need custom cabinets to match what's already there; that can drive up costs significantly. Additionally, if you're hiring someone for the job, keep in mind their hourly rates add on top of materials. Overall, you might be looking at several thousand dollars for the whole thing.
