Hey everyone! I've got this shed that I think used to be an RV shelter, and I'm wondering how much work it would take to fix it up for storage. I've noticed a few things, like the roof is sagging, there's moss everywhere, and the entire thing seems to be painted plywood with some serious water damage. The sill plate is almost completely rotted, and I've got some questionable vertical supports too. Plus, there's zero critter-proofing and the wiring looks super sketchy—I've kept the breaker off since I moved in.
I'm pretty handy but I need your advice! Besides what I've mentioned, are there any other hidden issues I should look out for? Any specific terms I should Google for better info? And at what point should I consider bringing in a pro? Thanks a bunch!

If you’re located in NJ, fixing it might be easier than the hassle of getting permits for a new shed. But I bet similar rules apply where you are—definitely check local codes and requirements!
One thing to note: I noticed that the window header is missing jack studs, which means the window is supporting the whole header. That’s not safe and could lead to bigger issues down the line. You might want to fix that right away!
Yikes, that doesn’t sound good. I'll keep an eye on that. Thanks for the heads up!
Honestly, I’m not a pro, but this doesn’t look too daunting! I’d focus on sealing it up first to prevent further damage, and then maybe tidy the electrical stuff. Getting a quote from a contractor might also be a good idea; they'll give you insights on repairs, and you can decide whether to let them handle it or DIY it based on their advice. Just a thought!
I don’t live in NJ, but I think you're right—it’s likely similar here. Thanks!
