Hey everyone! I'm in Zone 9B in Southeast Texas, and with temperatures already hitting the high 80s and nearing 90 degrees, I've noticed some of my plants getting droopy from the midday heat. I want to avoid overwatering, but I'm wondering how often you all are watering your gardens when it starts to get this hot? Any tips would be appreciated!

In Florida, where I’m also in Zone 9B, I usually deep water every two days when summer hits. If we’re in a heat wave, I might even have to do it daily. Right now, I’m watering every two days and monitoring how the plants look. It’s all about keeping them hydrated during those super hot days!
I’m based in Houston, also in Zone 9B, and I’ve been watering every other day. Once the peak summer heat hits, I usually use shade cloth on my gardens to keep them covered, but I'm still watering every two days at least to keep everything thriving.
Nice! I’m in Montgomery and my squash and peppers are really struggling already. I noticed they perk up in the evening, but man, that midday sun really hits hard.
Totally agree! I’m in Florida as well, and as we approach summer, I’ll switch to watering every morning. Gotta keep those plants happy!
