I just got a snake plant from a nursery yesterday, and its soil feels pretty dry. I know these plants like dry conditions, so I'm wondering if I should go ahead and water it now. I'm also going to be out of town for a week in three weeks, so it would be helpful to water it again before I leave. I have two Pothos and a spider plant too; they will also be off their watering schedule while I'm away. What should I do about them?

You should water your snake plant when the soil is dry up to your first knuckle. This means that if you stick your finger in the soil and it feels dry that deep, it's time to give it some water. Just be cautious not to overwater, as these plants prefer to stay on the dry side!
For your other plants, like the Pothos and spider plant, you can water them thoroughly before you leave, ensuring the water runs out of the bottom of the pots. This will give them a good amount of moisture to last while you're away.
