How Should I Attach My Bathroom Linen Cabinet to the Pedestal?

I'm working on installing a bathroom linen cabinet that rests on a pedestal made from 1x4" plywood, with braces in each corner. I'm wondering if I should affix the cabinet to the pedestal by screwing through the bottom braces into the cabinet, or if I should just set the cabinet on top. I also have toekick finishing boards to attach, which makes me think securing the cabinet is the right move, but I want to double check before proceeding.

If there were no assembly instructions included, it might be tricky. However, given that these cabinets were built to a high standard, it's generally a good idea to secure them. It might help to reach out to the manufacturer if you're unsure about the installation.

I did check, and they mentioned that stability is key, so I'm feeling better about screwing it in.

From what you've described, it sounds like it would be best to screw the cabinet to the pedestal for stability, especially since you're adding those toekick boards later. Without seeing a picture, it's tough to give a solid answer, but affixing it should help keep everything secure.

Thanks for the input! I'll definitely go ahead and screw it down then.

Yeah, having it secure avoids any wobbling over time. Good call!
