I have 6kWh of battery connected to a 400W solar panel, using a Victron controller and a 2000W inverter. Despite having a 4ft copper grounding pole, my system keeps showing a ground fault, preventing it from functioning properly. I've tried disconnecting the controller from the batteries, but that hasn't helped either.
Before assuming the inverter is the issue, I'm looking for clarity on the proper grounding method. Specifically, should I connect the ground to the negative or positive bus bar? Are there other areas to check or actions I can take? Also, is there a way to clear the ground fault with any device, or is that too dangerous?

You might want to start by checking if your neutral is bonded to ground somewhere. Some lower-end inverters send around 60 volts to each leg for 120V, which means each leg could be 60V to ground, causing issues if they're bonded incorrectly. Definitely check that before going further!

Whoa, I didn't realize the AC side could actually mess with the DC setup. I guess I need to measure from the AC lines to ground to diagnose that, right?
