How Should I Seal My Wood Swing Set for the Best Protection?

I'm planning to build a Discovery Skyfort 2 swing set for my kids soon. To protect it, I plan to use Seal Once for sealing. I have various application methods available, including a brush, roller, pump sprayer, and even HVLP and HP sprayers. Which method would offer the best coverage and penetration? Should I seal the pieces before assembly or wait until it's fully built? With a second baby on the way and a two-day build time, I can't afford to spend too long sealing it.

LOL, I read your title as 'best way to steal a wood swingset' at first! But seriously, sealing after it's built is definitely quicker and more practical. You won't have to fuss with disassembled pieces. Just coat the parts that will be visible, and you should be set!

If you're looking for the best coverage, I'd say go with the pump sprayer. It gives a nice even coat without too much effort. Also, do it after assembly to make sure you get all the tricky spots. Less hassle that way!

Make sure to check what type of wood you're using. If it's cedar, that's great because it holds up well to weather. I recommend sealing it after assembly; this way, you can easily reach all the exposed parts, and it'll save you time. Just focus on the areas that will be exposed to the elements and you should be good!
