I have a really big window in my small apartment living room, measuring around 8ft by 8ft, and I live on the second floor in a busy city. I struggle with ADHD, and the view from this window distracts me constantly, making it hard to focus or relax. While I don't want to completely close it off with curtains, I would like to minimize distractions from the lower part of the window while still letting in natural light from the top. Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

A nice option would be to get window film. It's super easy to apply and you can find it at home improvement stores. You'll find both decorative ones and ones that just add a hazy effect—perfect for keeping that natural light but blocking the view!
Consider using an obscuring window film! You can customize how much of the window you cover, and they even have some cling films that are easier to remove if you ever change your mind. It's a great way to maintain some sunlight without that pesky view distracting you.
What about installing a second curtain rod higher up and using gauzy or sheer curtains? This way, you can filter the sunlight while adding a bit of privacy to the lower half of the window. It’ll still let light through while reducing distractions from the outside!

That's a creative idea! A layered curtain setup could really bring some elegance to the space while keeping it functional.
