I've got this oddly shaped window that's causing a lot of issues. The bottom part is square, but it has a right-angled triangle at the top, which makes it tough to find proper blinds. I've already tinted the window and added regular blinds to the square part, but it's still getting really hot inside, and my stuff is getting sun damaged. Right now, I'm using some box lids to try to block the light and heat, but it looks pretty bad. Any ideas on how to better handle this?

For a quick solution, you could try using an attractive piece of cloth and some push pins to cover the window. I’ve been known to use a blanket for my sliding door on hotter days; it works in a pinch! If you want something more lasting, how about frosted glass spray paint? It’s easy to apply and you can control how much light gets through. Plus, you can scrape it off later if you need to. If it's still too bright, a fabric triangle to cover the triangular part positioned with push pins might do the trick!
Have you thought about cut-to-size blinds? You can find those online, and they can fit the weird shape without much hassle. They’re a cost-effective option to manage light and heat effectively. Just make sure you measure accurately!
Custom solutions might be your best bet here. Consider options like custom stained glass — it can filter the light nicely while adding some character. If you go for window film, just check the compatibility with your double-paned glass first. It’s probably worth having it professionally installed for better results than the DIY kits you see on Amazon. If you post a picture, people can give you more specific advice!
