Hey everyone! I'm planning to pressure wash my siding this weekend and I want to include brightening my white aluminum gutters in the process. Ideally, I'd like to apply a cleaning solution to the gutters, let it sit for a bit, and then pressure wash everything in a single flow. I really want to avoid scrubbing if possible!
I've come across a bunch of cleaning options like bleach, vinegar, and store-bought detergents. My dad suggested spray painting the gutters, but that would be a separate task from the pressure washing and I'm not looking for perfection here. Any recommendations? Also, how should I clean the soffit? I'm not sure if pressure washing it is the best idea. Thanks in advance!

What kind of siding do you have? If it’s vinyl, pressure washing can be okay but make sure you keep the pressure low (around 1000-1200 psi). I’ve done it with my vinyl siding and it turned out fine, but if you’re unsure, using a hose with a spray attachment will definitely be safer for both the siding and the gutters. A soft wash solution might be the best route if you're worried about streaks.
When it comes to siding, I'd be cautious with pressure washing, as it can damage finishes or leave streaks. A safer method is soft washing, which uses lower pressure and cleaning chemicals. As for your gutters, a mix of vinegar and water works well to brighten them without the need for scrubbing. Just spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes, and rinse off with a hose. Avoid the pressure washer for that unless you have it on a super low setting!
That sounds like a solid plan! Just keep an eye out for any run-off from the vinegar, it can be a bit harsh on plants if you’re washing near them.

I have vinyl too! I just did mine with a pressure washer at 1200 psi and it worked well without ruining the finish. Practice makes perfect, though!
