How to Build Your Own Ultrasonic Cleaning Tank?

Asked By CraftyNinja77 On

I'm trying to build a custom ultrasonic cleaning tank for my workspace and need some detailed info on the ultrasonic transducers, power supply, and how to create a controller for it. One challenge I'm facing is determining how many transducers to use based on the tank's capacity, the arrangement of these transducers, and how to wire and control everything. Since this is a niche area with not many manufacturers, I've already contacted one for guidance. Does anyone have experience or knowledge in this field to help me out? I'd appreciate any insights!

I don't have hands-on experience with construction, but I worked with liquid oxygen and nitrogen, and we used ultrasonic cleaners. While I’m not sure about the electrical side of things, I believe you can find manuals or guides online that might be useful for your project.

You can definitely attach a transducer to a metal bowl! It’s a method that’s been proven to work. The key is ensuring a solid bond for effective cleaning. Just make sure the bowl can handle the ultrasonic vibrations without cracking.

What size tank are you making? For smaller ones, I've seen people use just one transducer, while larger models might use six or more. There are a ton of YouTube videos showing how others have built theirs, which could help you figure out your design.
