How to Choose a Toilet for a Tight Bathroom Space?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to replace the toilet in my bathroom and I'm running into some height and space challenges. Here's the deal: my counter is 30.5 inches tall and extends 6 inches into the bathroom, which hangs right over the toilet tank. The toilet I have now is 29 inches tall. I'm wondering if replacing it with a new toilet of the same height will make repairs difficult with the counter over it. If that's the case, I guess I need to look for a shorter toilet instead. However, I'm in California and I'm really struggling to find affordable options that meet my height and budget requirements. I'm hoping to stick around $600 max, but it's been tough confirming heights online. Any suggestions or specific models that would work for my situation? I'd really appreciate any help! Thanks!

Yeah, a shorter toilet would definitely make maintenance easier! Just keep in mind that toilets are usually measured from the floor to the height of the bowl, not including the tank. If you're having trouble with specifications online, maybe call a local plumbing supply store? They might have recommendations for models that fit your needs.

Choosing the right toilet can indeed be tricky with those constraints. You're right; a 29" toilet is going to make repairs difficult, especially since your counter hangs over it. It might be best to look for a shorter toilet to give you more room to work. I'd suggest checking local stores for low tank height toilets, as they typically fit better in tighter spaces. I've seen a few options at Lowe’s for under $300 that could work for you.
