Hey there! I need some advice about a well we have on our property. It was drilled back in the 60s and it's currently our only water source. We've noticed it's got a clogged screen. The well is about 180 feet deep. What's the best way to go about cleaning that screen? Any tips or guidance would be really appreciated!

First off, it's important to ensure the problem really is a clogged screen and not something else, like a dropping water level or sand buildup. Just a thought! Can you explain how you figured out it's the screen that’s clogged?

Sure! We don’t have any filters in the system, and nothing seems to be coming out in terms of sediment. Plus, we can drain our 75-gallon tank just once and hear air being pulled in as the water hits the pump, which is down at about 170 feet. After waiting about 10-15 minutes, the well refills. This has been the case for the two years we've lived here.
