How to Clean Dust After Removing Tile and Grout?

My husband and I just bought a new home, and we're in the middle of removing tile from every room before we officially move in. Thankfully, there's no furniture yet, but we've created a significant layer of dust from the tile and grout removal, plus some thin layers we've exposed. We're planning to install new LVP flooring and have professional painters come in soon. My main concern is how to thoroughly clean all the dust before moving in because I've read that some of it might be carcinogenic. We've been wearing masks, but I'm still worried about lingering dust. We're considering a deep professional clean and possibly getting the HVAC system cleaned too. What steps should we take to ensure all that dust is gone? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

A good approach is to tackle one room at a time. Seal each room with plastic sheeting to prevent dust from spreading around. Using a ShopVac air cleaner can also be really effective. Check out some models at your local hardware store!

I’ve never seen one of these before. Thanks for the tip! I usually set up a box fan blowing out the window for negative pressure, but it hasn't been very effective.

I recommend getting an air purifier to help manage the dust. We had similar work done in our home, and it made a noticeable difference.

Ooh good idea! Is there a specific brand you found that worked best for you?
