Hey everyone! I recently received an older small band saw as a gift, and I think it would be perfect for my model workshop, where I work on architectural models and small mock-ups. The problem is, it didn't come with a rip fence or a miter gauge, and I can't find any that fit the 1/2 inch track. Since the table is aluminum, magnetic fences won't work either. I'm considering building my own rip fence and would love to hear if anyone has experience with this. Could you share some tips or point me to some YouTube videos for inspiration?

I built a rip fence based on a design by Eric Sorensen, and it turned out great! The key is to use a back plate that’s perfectly perpendicular to the blade and a front piece that’s large enough for clamping. It should self-square nicely, though just be careful not to push too hard without locking it in place; it can drift a bit. Here’s the link to the video I followed: [Eric Sorensen's Rip Fence](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nyv0UWSSV8).
I’ll definitely check this out, thanks!
