How to Cut a Thick Plank of Teak Wood into Thinner Pieces?

I have a teak wood plank measuring 1' by 2' and it's 2" thick. I want to cut it into two thinner planks of the same dimensions but each only 1" thick. I don't have a bandsaw, but I do have a table saw, a miter saw, and a jigsaw. What's the best way to make this cut?

Given the tools you have, it’s best to use the table saw. You can start by cutting around the perimeter of the plank. After that, for the middle part, it might be easier to finish the cuts with a hand saw. It's not ideal since you don't have a band saw, but this method should work out well.

I was considering the same approach! If I cut the outer edges with the table saw and finish with the jigsaw for the middle, do you think that would work?

While it's a bummer you don't have a bandsaw, if you're planning on getting one in the future, I highly recommend one with good resaw capabilities. I've got a 14" Jet bandsaw, and it’s made a huge difference for cutting thicker wood. For now, though, your plan of using the table saw for the perimeter and a jigsaw for the inside seems like the best way to go!

So if I cut the edges first with the table saw, then use my jigsaw for the middle section, do you think that should work out without issues?
