How to Cut an IKEA LED Strip for My Light-Up Mirror?

Hey everyone! I just created my first Reddit account and I'm hoping to get some advice. I'm working on a DIY light-up mirror project using the IKEA Vattensten LED strip. I'm planning to lay the strip around the inside of my mirror frame and then cut off the excess. The issue I'm facing is that to make a neat cut, I might need to trim just past the scissor mark. I've attached a picture showing where I intend to cut, which is near the power supply end. I think those black components I see might be the controllers, so I'm wondering if I can safely cut at the indicated spot without messing up the LEDs that come before it. Also, is there a way to make this cut work out as planned? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since you're already cutting the strip, you might as well test it out! Cut a little bit further than you think you need to, just to be safe. I’m sure everything will work out fine. Just make sure to double-check the photo you attached if anyone else needs to see it for reference!

Oh, sorry about the image not showing before! I’ve linked it here again for better visibility: https://imgur.com/JAbTbuT

You don’t have to worry about cutting exactly at the scissor mark. As long as you cut somewhere between the two LEDs where the mark is, the strip should still function properly. Just keep in mind that the last one or two LEDs might not light up after the cut, but everything else will be fine!

Thanks for the tip! If I cut where I’ve marked in my image, do you think it’ll work?
