How to Deal with Dog Urine Damage Before Selling My House?

Hey everyone, I've finally decided to sell my house after owning it for ten years! I bought it when I was pretty young and treated it more like a rental than my actual home. I had two dogs who frequently peed in the kitchen at night, and over time, that has seriously damaged my particle board cabinets as the urine seeped into the tile grout lines. I just checked under the oven cabinet and it seems like the urine has soaked into the particle board, leading to a lingering smell. I've deep cleaned it, which helped a bit, but I need to figure out a way to eliminate the smell completely without spending a fortune on new cabinets. Does anyone have tips on how to fix this problem? I'd also consider doing a price adjustment to reflect the damage if necessary. Just looking for some guidance here!

From my experience in real estate, the first step is to deep clean and sanitize everything as best as you can. Make sure your house looks appealing for buyers because first impressions are really important! Think about whether it’s worth spending some cash to fix things versus just adjusting the asking price. Houses are staying on the market longer in some areas, so keep that in mind!

I'd also recommend using products specifically designed for pet urine. Vinegar and baking soda can work wonders too. Good luck!
