How to Deal with Fungal Gnats on Vegetable Seedlings?

Hey folks! I've been starting several varieties of vegetable seeds lately, but I've run into a bit of a problem. Every time I touch the pots, these little flies come buzzing out. My seedlings aren't doing so hot either. I've been starting seeds for years, and I've never encountered this issue before; I'm wondering if it could be due to the new seed starting mix I bought. Any advice? I've tried a hydrochloride solution, but it didn't seem to help.

I personally like to saturate my seed starting mix with boiling water before using it. I call it 'dirt soup,' haha! If it’s not too late, you might just want to consider starting over, though. The gnat problem usually gets worse if you let it linger.

You might want to check out Gnatrol! It's around $17 and seems to do the trick for a lot of people dealing with fungal gnats. Just a straight-up recommendation, but if you're looking for something effective, it could be worth it.
