I'm a new plant enthusiast and I've recently discovered some little gnat eggs in one of my plants. I'm wondering about the best way to eliminate them—is repotting necessary? I'd also love to know what kind of products I should be using on my plants. Are there specific fungicides, insecticides, or fertilizers you recommend, especially brands that are beginner-friendly? Lastly, considering my house doesn't get much sunlight, I'm looking into getting some grow lights. Any suggestions would be super appreciated!

I took the natural route and added springtails to my soil. They bounce around and love munching on what gnats thrive on. Ever since, I’ve seen way fewer gnats! It's worth considering if you want a more eco-friendly solution.
You might not have gnat eggs; what you saw could be fungal sclerotia—tiny and harmless. It's easy to mistake them for bug eggs, so double-check!
To tackle fungus gnats, it's tough but doable! I created a post about my experiences overcoming them. A few tips: try bottom watering your plants, use a Zevo light to trap the adults, put yellow sticky traps in the pots, and consider using stuff like Mosquito Bits tea when you water. Changing out the top part of your soil can help, too! Oh, and do it outside to avoid letting any gnats escape indoors. As for grow lights, I’m looking into affordable options myself!

The bottom watering part is definitely key! It helps a lot with keeping the soil conditions right while managing those pesky gnats.
