How to Deal with Hard Water Build-up in My Shower/Tub?

Hey everyone! I moved into my new place a few months back and discovered the second shower hasn't been usable since day one. The previous owner didn't use it at all, and the home inspector suggested it's likely due to hard water build-up. It's a shower-tub combo, and I really want to fix it up so I can take baths and maybe let guests use it too. Does anyone have tips on confirming if it's hard water build-up and what I can do to fix it?

If you suspect hard water deposits, check out CLR or Zep cleaners specifically designed to tackle that. You can find CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover and Zep's Concentrated Calcium, Lime, Rust Stain Remover online. They work pretty well on tough build-up!

Have you tried checking if water comes out when you take off the shower head? Sometimes, tub spouts and showerheads can get clogged, and they're usually easy to replace. A simple vinegar solution can also do wonders—just put it in a bag and attach it to the showerhead or tub spout!

I can get some water out of the tub but nothing from the shower spout even after removing the head. There's a weird noise when I try switching the water over—should I be concerned?

It might also help to get the drain scoped to see if something's blocking it that you can't see. It could be a more complicated issue than just hard water.
