Hey everyone! I recently bought a duplex on a busy street in Van Nuys, CA, and I've been having some ongoing trouble with my neighbors not cleaning up after their dogs on a small patch of grass and dirt right in front of my property. I've been diligent about picking up after them, but it's frustrating. I've got cameras set up, but the tall privacy plants block their view of the area where the issues happen. I'm looking for some safe and effective ways to deter dogs from using this spot as their bathroom. Any thoughts?

Sure, big boulders in that spot could work as a barrier to keep dogs away. They’d have to go around them, which might just do the trick. Just make sure you place them in a way that doesn’t block the sidewalk!
Have you considered using motion-activated sprinklers? They can really surprise dogs and deter them from walking into the area. Plus, adding a couple more cameras might help catch anything you miss.
If you're looking for something a bit more drastic, you could throw some of that Deer Scare stuff around. It might not be the most friendly solution, but it could make that area less appealing for both dogs and their owners to walk through.

How does that work exactly? Wouldn’t they just go somewhere nearby instead?
