How to Determine Spray Foam Insulation Coverage for a 2×4 Wall?

I'm planning to use spray foam insulation to fill voids in a standard 2x4 wall, spaced 16 inches apart. I'm unsure how to calculate how much foam I'll need to effectively fill the space. Should I fill it completely or just seal certain areas? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, using just a can for a whole wall sounds tricky! For a room, try focusing on the areas that need it most first, like gaps or cracks. Then, if you need more, you can always get another can. It’s all about layering it up, rather than filling it all at once.

When using spray foam, it’s generally best to fill each hole gradually. You fill it a little at a time until it starts oozing out a bit. This way, you can control the amount used and avoid wasting foam. Just remember to let it expand and cure before adding more if needed.
