I've been using the same well pump and holding tank for over 30 years, and I've started to notice sediment clogging the cold water screen filter in my washing machine. I believe that the rubber bladder inside the holding tank could be filled with iron debris, and I want to drain it. Unfortunately, I can't find a drain valve on the tank itself. I'm considering adding a T-valve on the 3/4" copper line that exits the tank roughly 12 inches from where it connects at the bottom. Is this a good approach? I'm looking for tips on how to efficiently drain all the debris once I install the inline T-valve. Also, I've attached a picture of my setup with a potential drain valve location marked with a red arrow.

It sounds like you might be dealing with parts of a failed bladder affecting your water supply. A good idea would be to install a pressure tank T with a drain valve, similar to the one in this link. This should help you manage the sediment better and allow for easier draining. Just make sure you align it well with your existing setup! If you can, share your picture, it might help others give you more specific advice.
Thanks for the advice! I just included my setup in the original post. Any specific ideas on how to connect the drain valve for maximum efficiency?
