How to Dry Out a Wet Underdeck Area?

Asked By SunnyDeckExplorer123 On

I've got a second-story deck on my townhome, and because it faces the back where there's rarely any sunlight, the underside of the deck stays perpetually damp. I'm looking for some practical advice or ideas on how to dry that area out, especially something that I can keep there permanently. Any suggestions?

You might want to consider installing an under-deck roofing or some kind of drainage system. A straightforward option could be hanging clear polycarbonate sheets and directing the water toward a downspout. That could really help with the moisture issues!

But won’t that just keep the water from falling on the patio? It won’t actually dry the underside of the deck itself, right?
