How to Find a Door That Fits My Existing Hinge Placement?

I'm having a tough time finding a replacement door that fits my current hinges and placement. I need to swap out a 30x80 door with 4 9/16 x 9 9/16 jams. For reference, my old door's hinge placements were 7 inches from the top, 12 inches from the bottom, and 27 inches in the middle. I've found some doors that fit the size but not the hinge placements. Any suggestions on how to find a door that works with my current setup? Also, I'm hoping to keep this under $200 if possible.

Honestly, if you're looking for a specific hinge placement, you might be limited. You really should consider getting a raw door slab. That way you can chisel the hinge spots exactly where you need them. Otherwise, you might be stuck with a pre-hung door that won't fit your specs.

One of the easiest ways to deal with this is to buy a raw door slab and just cut your own hinge placements. You'll need some basic tools like a utility knife, a chisel, a small hammer, and a tape measure. Just take your time to get it right, and you should be good to go!

Ok thanks!

If you're not comfortable doing the cutting yourself, you can check with a local hardware store. Some places, like my local Home Depot competitor, will actually cut the door for you to match your existing hinge locations for a small fee — usually around $40. Might be worth looking into!
