How to Find a Master Electrician for Solar Grid Hookup?

Asked By SunnySideUp42 On

I've got everything ready to set up my solar panel system and I'm all set for the mounting part. However, my county and the electric company require a master electrician to connect me to the grid and I need a permit to do so. I've tried reaching out to different solar companies, but they only want to handle the whole process themselves. Has anyone here had any success navigating this issue? What are your suggestions?

Have you checked local classifieds like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist? You might find a master electrician willing to do the job for a reasonable price. It can sometimes be easier to find someone through those platforms than going through a larger company.

In my area, finding a master electrician isn't straightforward because they often need to be part of approved solar installers. It's a pain, really. I've noticed that some electricians will take your project but will charge a hefty price for their services. That's why I suggest looking for a local electrical contractor instead of solar companies. They usually have the flexibility to help you get the grid hookup done smoothly.
