How to Find Grass Cutting Jobs and Set My Rates?

Hey everyone! I'm a 21-year-old guy with a girlfriend and a little one at home, and I'm looking to start a grass-cutting side hustle. I'm curious about the best ways to find jobs in my area. Also, what would be a fair rate to charge for just cutting grass? Any tips would be super helpful!

Consider putting up a card at your local post office or garden centers; they’re good spots for finding clients. And definitely check in with local health centers—they often have people looking for assistance with yard work. I found a great gardener for my mom that way!

Pricing can vary quite a bit based on your location. For just grass cutting, I’d say around £15 to £18 per hour is fair, especially outside of London. Just keep in mind that it might be tricky to find enough work doing only grass cutting since demand can vary, and winter can be slow. Maybe look into doing other services too!

Good point! I’d also suggest checking out what others in your area charge for similar services to help you set your rates.

For finding jobs, I've heard a lot of success stories from folks using Nextdoor. It’s a great platform for local gigs! You might also want to set up a Facebook page to showcase your work. Don't forget to print some business cards or flyers to drop off in your neighborhood. It's all about getting the word out!

Yeah, that’s a solid idea! I also think if you focus on specific neighborhoods, it could really help you get recognized.
