Hey everyone! I'm a 25-year-old first-time homeowner, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed when it comes to decorating and designing my home. I grew up in a not-so-great environment where we didn't really focus on home decor, so it's all new to me. My husband is handy but is super busy with work and isn't really motivated to make aesthetic changes. I've decided to hire a contractor to repaint our bathroom and possibly replace the old tiles, but when they asked me for tile preferences, I completely blanked. I've tried browsing Pinterest, but I struggle to visualize how different designs can fit into my space. I really want to get some ideas and inspiration for home improvement projects. Any advice or tips on how to get my creative juices flowing?

When we revamped our bathroom, we spent a lot of time visiting different tile stores where they have display walls and setups. You can see everything in context, which makes choosing tiles way easier. Also, snapping a photo to share with your contractor can really help!
It can be really daunting to pick styles for your home, especially if you feel like you don’t have a vision. I recommend taking your time and creating a mood board with images you like or aspects of designs that inspire you. You might discover a pattern in what you gravitate toward!
Have you considered hiring an interior designer? Some tile shops even have designers on staff who can help you make those choices. It could simplify the process a lot!

Totally agree! Just start collecting images of things you like. It helps to narrow down your style without pressure – next thing you know, you might have some clear ideas!
