Hey everyone! I'm in the process of finishing my garage and currently, my walls are unpainted with just concrete floors. I'm planning to paint the walls to make it easier to install hooks and other organizational items for a tidier space. However, I've noticed that instead of the usual wooden base trim, I have a concrete base trim which has quite a bit of space between the wall and the base. I'm unsure about how to approach this. Should I just paint over the concrete to match the walls, or would that look strange? Any advice on achieving a polished finish for my garage would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you're on the right track! You could definitely consider painting the concrete to match your walls for a clean look. Using epoxy floor covering is also a solid option for your floors and could help bring the whole garage together. Just keep in mind that if you have exposed concrete walls, wrapping them in PVC or wood might be a good way to finish them off nicely.
If you have a frost wall in your garage, it’s quite normal to see that concrete protruding a bit. It’s not weird at all! Just make sure when you install your baseboards that they sit flush with the wall, and you'll have a polished look overall. If you’re worried about how it looks, consider adding a bit of trim to cover the edge.
