How to Fix a Bulging Hardwood Floor Under a Ruggable Pad?

Hey everyone! We just cleaned underneath our rugs and found a bulging spot under one of our Ruggable rugs. After doing some research, it seems that the rubber backing on these rugs can sometimes trap moisture, causing problems like this. I'm hoping to get some advice on how to address this issue without having to replace any actual floorboards. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I’m not sure there is a perfect fix for bulging floors. You might have to work with the damage as best you can. Usually, controlling moisture is key here. Consider using dehumidifiers or ensuring good air circulation. It might help prevent further issues too!

First off, it's important to know if your floor is solid hardwood or engineered, as that could influence your options for repair. If it's solid hardwood, you may have a couple of avenues to explore, including sanding or using a moisture remover. If you can, consider removing the rug to let the area dry out and see if the bulge subsides. Just keep an eye on the humidity levels in the room!

Good point! It is solid hardwood, so that's helpful to know. I'm definitely going to remove the rug for now and see what happens. Thanks!
