I recently had new carpeting installed in my living room, but now I'm having trouble with the door leading to my deck. The door isn't shutting properly and is even tough to open. It originally had spring hinges that helped it close automatically. I'm wondering how I might lift the door or adjust it so that it can shut again. Any tips?

It sounds like the carpet is probably getting in the way of the door. If it’s a wooden door, you might need to take it off the hinges and trim a bit from the bottom to make sure it clears the carpet. You could also check out some YouTube videos on how to do this yourself if you're feeling handy!
Another option is to cut out a section of the carpet right in front of the door and replace it with tile. This way, the door will have enough space to open and shut without issue, plus it prevents the carpet from getting dirty from foot traffic.
