I recently got a new dryer installed and faced an issue with the vent after cleaning out some lint. While I managed to reconnect the vent hose, there's a slight gap where air is escaping at the connection point. Should I just use some duct tape or a high heat tape to seal it, or would it be better to try reinstalling the hose again? That vent hose was a real pain to attach!

I recommend using clamps instead of tape. Either large screw clamps or the springy type could work well. They provide a more secure fit than tape, especially if you have any gaps.
If you're going the tape route, make sure to use actual duct tape, like foil tape, instead of the usual stuff. It's way more effective at sealing those joints. Just a heads up, foil tape can be sharp, so be careful when handling it!
