I just swapped out my bathroom faucets for some that include pop-up drain plugs. In one of my sinks, the basin has a little depression around the drain which allows the flange to sit perfectly, working without issues. However, in the other sink, there's no such dip, and the plastic flange at the top creates a little lip, causing water to pool and eventually evaporate, leaving an ugly ring. I suspect it worked better with the previous metal drain since it might have had a thinner profile, but unfortunately, I can't remember. I just moved into this house and upgrading the faucets was among the first things I tackled. Is there a solution for this? Should I look for a pop-up drain with a lower profile flange, or is replacing the sink my only option (which I really hope I don't have to do since it's one piece with the countertop)?

Make sure you're sealing the area correctly. Did you use the washer that came with the drain? If so, ditch it and try using plumber's putty instead. It should give you a tighter seal and might sit better than that thin washer you have now.
You could definitely try getting a different drain with a thinner flange, or even consider a sink with a deeper bevel if you’re looking at replacements. That way, you won’t have that annoying water pooling issue anymore.

I used the washer too! Do you think the putty would be a better fit since it seems a lot thicker?
