How to Fix a Sagging Leaf on My Teak Table?

I have a long teak table with a 1.5" solid top that was modified to include a leaf, but now the leaf is sagging after years of use. Initially, it didn't sag, so I assume the weight over time is to blame. I've used standard heavy wood slide extensions, but they aren't supporting the leaf properly anymore. I've attached some images for reference. Can anyone suggest how to fix this issue?

Definitely consider the tools you have. With drills and saws, you might be able to reinforce the structure a bit. It seems like the slides aren't holding up well right now. Maybe you can examine how they are mounted and see if they're adjusted correctly? I didn’t see any noticeable sag in your side apron, so that's a good sign!

It sounds like you might have a support issue with the slide extensions. Have you tried tightening them up? Sometimes, after years of use, they can loosen and not support the weight effectively. Also, since your table is quite thick, it's worth checking if adding some additional shims between the top and the extensions could help reduce the sag.
