How to Fix a Window Sill that's Pulling Away from the Wall?

I have a two-story townhouse and I've noticed that the window sill on the second floor is starting to separate from the wall. At first, I thought it was just a cosmetic issue, so I had a handyman come out to nail it back in place and use caulk to seal it. Unfortunately, almost a year later, the problem has become much worse. I'm looking for advice on how to make a permanent fix. Any suggestions?

Did you really have to hire that out? I feel like it shouldn’t have cost more than $20, and you could’ve handled it yourself. Just saying!

It sounds like moisture could be causing the issue, so you might want to take the sill off and check for water damage. If moisture is getting in, that needs to be addressed before anything else can really hold up. It’s better to catch those problems early!
