How to Fix Chipping Concrete in My Garage?

Hey everyone, I've got a problem with some chipping concrete in my garage that's less than two years old. The rest of the floor is epoxied and in great shape, but this one area is really starting to fall apart. I'm curious if I can patch it up with some kind of repair material, but my friend who has experience with concrete is unsure if that would hold up over time. I'm kind of dreading the thought of having to jackhammer and re-pour this small section since it would make such a mess. Any advice on the best way to handle this?

From what I can tell, patching that chipped area might not be the best route. If the underlying issue isn't resolved, you could end up making it worse in the long run. If it's not super bad, sometimes just leaving it as is for now could be wise until you decide on a permanent fix. Otherwise, cutting it out and redoing it might be the better option if you're up for it.

That does sound frustrating! If the chipping is occurring from the aggregate breaking apart, a patch could potentially stick but it's a hit or miss. You may want to consider consulting a pro for this before jumping in, although I totally understand not wanting to create a big dust cloud with jackhammers!
