How to Fix Long-Side Gaps in Engineered Hardwood or LVP Flooring?

Hey everyone! I've noticed some gapping on the long side of my engineered hardwood and LVP flooring. When I try to adjust one piece, it just creates another gap on the opposite side. I'm wondering if using wood putty or caulk to fill these gaps, especially if I can color match it to the flooring, would be a good idea. Is this a viable long-term fix, or just a temporary solution? By the way, here are some pictures of the issue: https://imgur.com/a/G6jxVcx

Using caulk might not be the best route; it can sometimes cause more problems down the line. You might end up making the gaps more noticeable or causing issues with the flooring’s expansion and contraction over time.

It sounds like there might have been an installation issue or possibly poor quality flooring. If your subfloor isn't stable, that could also lead to gaps. You mentioned a refrigerator leak—could that have affected the flooring? If it's water damage, you may need to consider more extensive repairs.

Check out these methods for fixing gaps! Just be careful, because if you adjust one plank to fix a long-side gap, it might open up another gap on the opposite side.
