Hey everyone! I'm a longtime lurker but decided to jump in as a new homeowner. We bought our house from a flipper we really can't stand, and I've run into a problem: the shower door sweep has fallen off. It's supposed to be a metal piece, but instead, it looks like they just used glue and tape—super sketchy! Now the problem is that the glass door is sitting inside the metal part, so I can't just screw it in without damaging the glass. I'm wondering, is it even a good idea to use a sweep like this in a shower door? If I go for it, what kind of adhesive should I use? I tried some waterproof caulk, but it didn't hold well at all. I've provided a link to the existing parts here: https://imgur.com/a/nGnEWQ4. If this repair fails, I might just buy this replacement: https://a.co/d/gkhTbqP.

The replacement you're looking at is definitely the right choice. It seems like the original sweep was more suited for an exterior entry door rather than a shower door, which explains why it's not holding up well. Stick with that replacement—you'll save yourself a headache!
Exactly! Original was definitely for an entry door. You made a smart choice.

Totally agree! Those flippers often cut corners. Good luck with the fix!
