I have a wide gap, about 2 inches, between my foundation and asphalt driveway, as shown in this [link](https://i.imgur.com/sqlqTZt.jpeg). The height difference from the garage floor to the bottom of the trench is around 5 inches, which makes it even trickier. I've heard suggestions of using a backing rod with self-leveling caulk, like Sika, but I'm not sure if that would really address the height issue. Should I try this myself or get some professional help? I consider myself handy, but I want to make sure I know what I'm doing.

You could try a bag of cold patch to fill that gap. It’s not too complicated—you just need to get it in there and pack it down properly. You can either use your hands or a tool for that. Just remember, you'll want to clean out the area before applying anything, so grab a hose or power washer to clear it out first.
Using cold patch is definitely a good option! But don't just dump it in without prepping. Cleaning the gap before you fill it will make a big difference. Just make sure to compact the patch as you go, so it holds up over time. If you feel uncertain, a pro can always give you peace of mind.
