How to Fix Water Leaks from New Windows?

Asked By BrokeBuilder21 On

I recently installed new windows in my house myself, mainly because I'm on a tight budget and couldn't afford a pro. While the windows seem to be functioning well, I've noticed some water leaking in from the top during rain. I initially thought I had installed the flashing correctly, but now I'm not so sure. Is there a way to fix these leaks without completely taking out the windows and starting over? I'm still waiting for the siding to get here, so I'm open to doing what's necessary to resolve this without causing extra work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked if you used a drip cap on the windows? It’s essential for directing water away from the frame. If you didn’t put one on, that might be where the leak is coming from. Try inspecting that area first and see if it needs fixing!
