Have you tried using a dishwasher cleaner? You can buy those name brand products that you just leave in an empty dishwasher and run a cycle. They usually do a great job at eliminating odors.
Don’t forget to check the base edge of the door! Sometimes dirt can build up there and create smells. A little cleaning can make a big difference.
Running a cycle with vinegar can be really effective! Just place a bowl upright filled with vinegar in the dishwasher and run it empty. It helps get rid of smells, especially if you have a stainless steel interior.
