How to Get Rid of Persistent Smells in My Old House?

I moved into my current house three years ago, and it has this really strong 'old house' smell that I just can't seem to get rid of. I've done all the usual stuff: cleaned the vents, painted the walls twice, replaced almost all the carpets, and thoroughly cleaned everywhere. Despite all my efforts, the smell is still just as strong, and it's driving me a bit crazy. I'm looking for any advice on what I can try next to eliminate this odor.

Check your walls, especially in places where water might be present, as mold can create a pretty nasty smell that lingers. You should inspect every inch of your home; that's often where the smell hides!

Don't forget the attic insulation! That could be a culprit too.
