How to Get Slips from Murasaki Sweet Potatoes?

I'm having a tough time getting slips to grow from Murasaki sweet potatoes I bought at Whole Foods. Normally, I don't face issues with other types; my Beauregard and Stokes Purple are thriving with slips. I've tried my usual methods, like laying them in sandy soil halfway covering the roots, and even the jar/toothpick technique, but I'm getting nowhere. Are these Murasaki potatoes usually difficult to sprout, or could they have been treated to inhibit growth?

I've had the same problem! Just be patient; I bought a Murasaki at Whole Foods a while ago, and it took ages before it finally started sending up shoots. I used the method where you partially bury them in soil on a tray inside. Turns out some varieties just take longer to sprout. I only just got to snap off my slips today, and it feels like forever! You’ll get there.

That's good to know! I can be patient since I have a long growing season, but it's just odd how much quicker other varieties slip for me. My Stokes Purple slips are out of control!
