How to Handle a Neighbor’s Weedkiller Use Affecting My Lawn?

Hey everyone,

I've got a bit of a situation with my neighbor who sprays weedkiller on their driveway, and it's starting to impact my front garden. The last time they sprayed, it killed a patch of my grass. It was an isolated incident, and I let it go, but I noticed them using a much stronger product recently that had a bleach-like smell. I watered my grass and hedge immediately after to protect them.

What steps can I take besides approaching them about this? I don't want to come off as that annoying neighbor who complains about everything. Any advice?

Definitely talk to them! They might not realize how their actions affect your lawn. Approach them nicely and just explain that some of your grass died because of the weedkiller. It's their property and choice to use it, but they need to be mindful of sprays drifting onto yours. No one wants a toxic yard, right?

Thanks for understanding! I guess I just need to gather the courage to have that chat.

You might have to be the ‘nagging’ neighbor a little, honestly. What they're using could be harmful, not just to your garden but theirs too. It's worth having a frank chat to let them know how it's affecting you and possibly their health. Better to be safe, right?

If it’s really strong stuff and makes you worry, tell them that their spraying could be a health hazard. You could even mention that if they're not careful, they could face fines for environmental damage. Maybe that’ll get them to think twice about how they use it!

Solid point! A little scare tactic could help! Hopefully, they’ll be more careful after that.
