How to Hide Cables When Mounting a TV on an Exterior Wall?

I'm planning to mount a TV in a spare room located on an exterior wall. I've done some research and found that I probably can't use a regular cable management kit like the ones I've used before due to the insulation in exterior walls. I'm looking for suggestions on how to manage the cables without needing to do any electrical work. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

There's no strict rule against using those kits! It might just be a bit trickier. In my experience, we usually have fiberglass batts in the wall and a vapor barrier over that, then drywall. You can actually fish the wires between the vapor barrier and drywall—it’s definitely more challenging than an open cavity, but totally doable!

It really depends on your insulation type, but using that kit shouldn’t be a problem at all. Just be careful with how you handle the insulation.

I’m worried that pushing it through the insulation might do some damage. What do you think?
