How to Improve the Transition Between Tile and Carpet?

We recently had a general contractor remodel our bathrooms, but they left the transition between the tile and carpet looking pretty rough. What are some options to make this look better, or do you think it's fine as it is? Here are some photos for reference: [Photos](https://imgur.com/a/5OV3lDJ)

I totally get your frustration! I faced the same issue, and it’s actually a pretty easy fix. You can find transition strips at your local hardware store. For my place, since I have concrete subfloors, I just glued mine in. Otherwise, they’re usually just screwed down. It makes a big difference!

That's helpful! Do you happen to remember what type of profile you used and where you found it?

Yeah, it's pretty lame they left it like that. They could have easily done a better job with the transition when installing the tile. Definitely look into getting a good floor transition strip.

We actually let them go before the job was finished. If you think this looks bad, wait until you see the subway tile work they did!

Did you hire someone else to finish up, or are you tackling it yourself? In my area, most GCs won’t come back to complete someone else's mess; they’d rather just start fresh. If it was a legit GC and their work is bad, you might have grounds to file a complaint. But yeah, as others mentioned, fixing the transition isn't too hard—a contractor really should have handled it.
