I'm trying to figure out how to install a wired doorbell on a door that doesn't have any existing wiring. I want to run a wire from a transformer but can't figure out the best approach for getting that wire through the door, which doesn't have any holes. Any suggestions?

One option is to remove the trim on the inside of the door. This way, you can drill a hole towards the transformer and from there, angle it to reach the doorbell spot. Make sure to check that there’s nothing obstructing your pathway before drilling!
Installing a wired doorbell can be tricky, especially if your door is made of steel. If that's the case, you might be able to use a fish tape to push the wire through. Ideally, you'd want to run the wire in through the bottom hinge or drill a hole discreetly on the inside surface of the door. However, I suggest looking at wireless options; they're less complicated and don't involve invasive drilling.
If you have an outlet nearby, consider using a plug-in transformer to power the doorbell instead of trying to reroute wiring from a hidden source. It would simplify the process significantly. For a wired setup, drilling through the door is key—just make sure to manage the wires well so they don’t get pinched when the door opens, or opt for wireless to avoid all these complications!

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't considered the pinching issue—but that makes total sense!
